After School Program
Rancho Cielo’s After School Program is designed to provide our youth with a safe and supportive environment to achieve academic success, develop essential life skills and prepare for a brighter future. By offering tutoring, enrichment activities and career exploration, we empower students to overcome challenges and build a solid foundation for their lives. Our 100-acre campus provides a calm and tranquil atmosphere where we can offer security and stability and reduce harmful influences and behaviors.
Program Offerings
Our program is designed to address the diverse needs of our students, providing them with essential support and opportunities in several key areas: academic support, safety and supervision, social development, recreational engagement, and mental and emotional well-being.
College and Career Readiness
Helping students prepare to go directly to work and/or enroll and succeed in a variety of post-secondary institutions—without remediation—so they are ready to enter a career of their choice.
Tutoring and Credit Recovery
Students receive individualized instruction to help get on track to achieve a high school diploma or equivalent.
Enrichment Activities
Students can choose to participate in our Bike Maintenance and Skills program or our Equestrian program, promoting self-esteem, improving confidence and fostering friendship and life skills.
Self-Care and Wellness Services
Leadership and culturally relevant programming, mentorship and counseling services to support self-care, reduce stress and anxiety and increase overall well-being.
Recreational Engagement
Starting with basketball in our beautiful indoor gym, students can develop teamwork skills, build a strong work ethic and self-reliance.
Direct Services
Comprehensive case management, healthy snacks and transportation available to all students.

Staff Spotlight
Terry Poole, a Monterey native and Silver Star program graduate, is driven by a passion for giving back and coming full circle to support and inspire the next generation.
After a period in Juvenile Hall, Terry was rehabilitated at a Youth Center and reintegrated into the community. He then enrolled at Monterey Peninsula College (MPC), where he played football and excelled academically. His hard work earned him a full scholarship to San Diego State University, where he obtained a BA degree in Criminal Justice.
Terry’s hard work and dedication led to him being drafted into the NFL. Terry will lead by example, sharing his story and offering guidance to inspire participants to strive for their own success.
